At the heart of all we do lies a deep commitment to our school family, flourishing and learning together through all Jesus' teaching. Everyone belongs and we encourage each other to be our best, in a respectful, safe, nurturing and creative environment. Through friendship and God's love, we give each other hope and the courage to succeed. This is a place where we can be our unique selves and serve as a beacon of light to all our community. Following in the footsteps of Christ, we live our lives through our values of respect, kindness, responsibility and hope. "You are the light that gives light to the world." Matthew 5:14
Rooted in our Christian ethos, we teach optimism and faith. Even in challenge, children look ahead with confidence.
Respect guides all we do. We value everyone, promoting understanding and care so all feel seen and included.
Small acts of kindness help us create a happy, welcoming school where everyone feels valued.
Being responsible helps us learn, grow, and support others, building confidence and independence.

“We wanted to give our 'host' Lucy a massive thank you and well done. She showed us all around the school and interacted with our little girl which made her feel even more comfortable and she's not stopped talking about Lucy since we got home. A massive credit to the school and Lucy's parents she was so brave taking us round and was so polite. Our little girl will look forward to coming to St. John's. Thank you”
“I would recommend this school wholeheartedly. Leaders have high expectations, and my child is doing well across subjects with lots of extra‑curricular activities to enrich their experience.”
“Leaders and staff show genuine commitment to every child’s personal development. Pupils feel respected, behaviour is consistently positive, and communication with parents is clear and welcoming.”
“Our child feels safe at school every day. Behaviour is well managed and a friendly community atmosphere helps pupils feel secure and supported in their learning.”
In DT, Year 1/2 have been working towards creating a waterproof hat. We folded pieces of newspaper to create our hats and then experimented to find out what materials we could add to our hat to make it waterproof #QUESTtrust #StJohnsAbram
Our Reading ambassadors joined toddler group for World Book Day last Thursday. The children loved sharing books and inspiring our future readers!
Year 1 loved world book day last week, we made book marks, described a Quest kid using expanded noun phrases and even made a front cover for the Diary of a Quest Kid book! Great costumes everyone
Practicing for the MTC doesn't stop for world book day! #QUESTtrust #StJohnsAbram
Year 3 / 4 have had a fun week packed with lots of engaging learning. In Math's, we have been learning about fractions, using manipulatives to help us understand equivalent fractions. In Writing, we have just finished our Big write, writing an explanatory text about the functions of teeth. I am really impressed with the level of work year 3 / 4 produced during this big write, especially their presentation. In reading, We have been reading the book Young, gifted and black. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about influential people that have made a difference in Today's society. For example, Muhammed Ali, Marting Luther King and Mary Seacole. In PE, we have been taking part in team building activities. We have learned it's not always about winning but taking part and working as a team that matters.
Y5 have been working incredibly hard in Maths this week. They have been completing tricky fraction questions and building their confidence with mixed numbers. #QUESTtrust #StJohnsAbram
Every year during Lent, we raise money for a chosen charity. This year, our appeal is especially close to our hearts. One of our families is facing unimaginable heartbreak as their young son, Reggie, has been diagnosed with Leukaemia and is currently undergoing treatment at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Despite everything, Reggie is responding well to treatment, showing incredible strength and keeping a big, beautiful smile on his face. In support of the Richmond family during this extremely difficult time, we have chosen to raise funds for two charities that are providing them with essential support: Milly's Smiles and CHICS. We kindly ask for your support during our Lent appeal, which runs from 23rd February to 1st April 2026. Here's how you can help: 1. Donations Please consider making a donation by collecting loose change or by a direct contribution. Donations can be sent into school in a clearly marked envelope or made online via our Givewheel page using the following QR code To signal the end of our Lent appeal and the last day of donations we will be hosting a 'Wear your Pyjamas to School Day" on Wednesday 1st April. 1. Raffle We will also be hosting a raffle with all proceeds going directly to our chosen charities. There are some fantastic prizes to be won, including vouchers, bouncy castle sessions, Wigan Warriors tickets, haircuts, car washes, ice cream, cupcakes and restaurant vouchers, among others. Raffle tickets will be sold daily by our pupils at £1 per strip, or you can purchase them directly from the school office. The winners will be drawn on 1st April 2026 at the end of the appeal. This is a truly worthwhile cause, and your generosity will help these charities continue their vital work supporting families when they need it most. #QUESTtrust #StJohnsAbram
