Year 5/6 children had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a class with 'Black Heroes of Mathematics', where they explored how AI can influence mathematics. They discovered how data is processed, how patterns are identified, and how we can use these patterns. The children spoke about how to use these tools safely and appropriately. #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram
In skills builder we are focusing on the skill of speaking. We looked at what we need to do to speak and how confident we need to be to find our voice and for some people that isn't easy. A career linked to speaking was a news reporter and we love to watch Newsround at the end of the day! We even tried to be a news reporter in class sharing breaking news! #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram
Y3/4 have been working on our 3 times tables. We worked in teams to find groups of three and what their total then was. We shared out cubes, worked out the answer to the calculations and challenged ourselves to find the corresponding division facts. #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram
Toddler Group at St. John's Abram Looking for a fun, friendly group for your little ones? Our Toddler Group at St. John's C. of E. Primary School, Abram is a great opportunity for children to play, explore and have fun while meeting other families in the local community. Join us every Thursday from 9am to 10am for a range of activities, including singing, dancing, creative activities and plenty of opportunities to play and socialise. And there's something for the grown ups too! This week in science we have been looking at parts of a plant! We have identified that fruit grows from the flowers of plants and the flower is the part of the plant that produces the seeds! To investigate this, we identified the parts of real plants and took a closer look at inside the fruits that grow on plants! We found lots of seeds! #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram

Yesterday we had been working on our oracy skills in PSHE. We tried the 'turn and talk' technique to understand each other's opinions and explain our own thoughts. This skill will come in useful next week during our Personal Development session when we investigate how the skill of speaking is used in the world of employment. #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram
On Monday morning we have taken part in the 'Money Matters Festival.' We have explored different ways to spend money, save money and how to budget. The children designed their ideal day out with a strict budget, having to factor in transport, food and activities. 💷💸 #QuestTrust #StJohnsAbram

It was lovely to see lots of parents and carers at our phonics workshop last week, we had a close look at our phonetic scheme Little Wandle and how we deliver phonics at St John's .
